A revised version of Northern Notes, Issue 36 is now available on the IASSA website. A correction was made to the caption for the photograph on page 17's article "Reflections of a Social Scientist on the Second International Arctic Forum "Arctic, Territory of Dialogue", Arkhangelsk, Russia, 22-23 September 2011" by Andrey Petrov. |

Northern Notes is the newsletter of the International Arctic Social Sciences Association, IASSA. It is published on the web by the IASSA secretariat twice a year with a Spring/Summer and a Fall/Winter issue, and is available to all web users. To view previous issues, please go to http://iassa.org/news-letter. IASSA invites contributions for the next issue of the NORTHERN NOTES newsletter. Contributions are invited from both members and non-members of the Association on issues of interest to Arctic social scientists. Contributions should be submitted by DECEMBER 7, 2011 to IASSA secretary, Cher Mazo:

Arctic Frontiers 2012: Call for papers |

The sixth Arctic Frontiers Conference Energies of the High North will be held in Tromsø, Norway 22-27 January 2012. Arctic Frontiers 2012 will discuss the global energy outlook, and assess the potentioal of traditonal and renewable energy resources in the North.
Arctic Frontiers is composed of a policy section and a scientific section. See here call for papers and abstract submission form in the scientific section. Deadline for abstract submission is 24 October 2011.
