We are pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Outline Proposals for the ESF EUROCORES Programme "BOREAS - Histories from the North: environments, movements, narratives" on circumpolar studies.

This is an research funding initiative coordinated by the European Science Foundation, targeting humanities and social science scholars specialising in Arctic and sub-arctic research in Europe, Canada, the USA and Russia.

You are invited to consult the website www.esf.org/boreas , where you will find the text of the Call, practical information, and national and international contact details and where you can subscribe to the BOREAS mailing list and Forum.

Please note that BOREAS will only fund international Collaborative Research Projects (CRP), with participants based typically in at least three countries (see "Call" for details), and that all assessments and evaluations of proposals will always consider the full CRP.
